Visedo Welcomes Two Key New Hires to Management Team
Visedo has appointed two new business unit directors to its management team, to help lead its marine and OEM divisions under the new Danfoss ownership.
Oscar Grooten, who joined Visedo in February 2017 as Director of Business Development, is the company’s new Business Unit Director for the marine division.
Oscar’s engineering and marine business management experience will be a key asset to the company’s management team.
Prior to joining Visedo, Oscar worked for seven years as business unit manager in drives and automation for off-shore vessels and power converters for luxury yachts.
“I am excited about the new challenge joining Visedo and would like to thank management for their confidence in me to lead this business unit and support a great team with the aim to deliver the best marine electric drivetrain solutions.
“We are just at the beginning of a revolution in marine. Hybrid and electric systems will become the standard to reduce emissions. As a manufacturer of electrical conversion products and high efficient PM machines, Visedo can provide high-added value to its marine customers.”
Visedo also welcomed a new Visedor, Antti Väyrynen, who is joining the team as Business Unit Director for the OEM division. Antti is a well-known expert in the field of energy storage and advanced energy systems. His previous focus was on battery management systems, for which he wrote several scientific papers, and received two granted patents.
Antti garnered extensive electrification experience as Vice President of Electrified Transportation at Leclanché SA, in charge of sales of Li-ion battery systems for Electrified Transportation, and global product management for E-Transport. Prior to this, he worked for AVL List as Head of Department, Electrification and Racing Test Systems, and as Director of System Development and Production for European Batteries Oy.
“I have followed Visedo closely since it was founded and am proud and excited to become a part of the success story. I have had a chance to work with Visedo team on various projects, including the famous E-Ferry, and always admired the excellent team spirit and atmosphere in the company.
“I see Visedo as a very promising company and a forerunner in electric drivetrain technology, which was proven by the Danfoss acquisition. As a part of Danfoss we will have an excellent chance to attract major OEM customers and further accelerate growth.”
Last month Danish engineering group, Danfoss, completed a successful acquisition of Visedo. The Finnish manufacturer will be integrated into the Danfoss Power Solutions business segment. The acquisition of this electric systems business is in line with Danfoss’ strategic focus on adding electric solutions as a key competency and a key part of the company’s approach to enable electrification across the global businesses.
